Project goal 

To locate a need within the life cycle of a plant and to intervene. 

 

Problems 

Every day millions of seedlings are sold around the world, all

in non-recyclable, nondegradable plastic containers. The plastic comtainers are simply thrown into the garbage without concern for the environment.

 

Design response 

In this exercise I exchanged the plastic planters used by nurseries with durable paper containers. These paper containers are easily opened pulling on the string that holds the containers closed in 

transit. 

The container is easy to carry and use, is environment friendly,

 and costs no more than the conventional plastic containers.

 

Method of Construction

Double ply 200-gram paper, sewn.
